Doctor Appointments

If you think you need an appointment, please send us a PATCHS request. This request is triaged by our clinicians, who can direct the request to the most appropriate service.

Contact us online for a GP appointment

There is now a new way to contact us online called PATCHS.

If waiting for PATCHS to open, please do not forget to refresh the PATCHS page at the time it is meant to be open.

Appointments are offered based on a patient’s need e.g. telephone, face to face, same day, within 72 hours, within 2 weeks. You will receive a text or a phone call following your PATCHS request. The more information you can put on your request the easier it is for the doctor to triage.

All PATCHS requests, received before 4 pm, are dealt with on the same day. Around 90% of requests, which require an appointment, are booked for the same day. Therefore, please ensure that you are available on the day you submit your request as you may be required to attend an appointment on the day of request.

Request on PATCHS can be submitted in a language of your choice. For more information, please visit help.patchs.ai/hc/en-gb/sections/360012017153-Patchs-Translate.

PATCHS is available from 8:00 am Monday to Friday. Based on appointment capacity, PATCHS reopens at 2:00 pm. Once our capacity to safely assess patients is reached, PATCHS will no longer be available for the day. However, our telephone lines are open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Our care navigators are on hand and have been trained to recognise requests that require prompt attention.  This also includes any requests for under 5’s and over 75’s, requests from vulnerable patients and from any patient who has difficulty submitting their request online.

Some of our appointments are delivered by Healthsense PCN, our Primary Care Network. These are delivered from the Ridgeway Surgery, and The Alexandra Avenue Health and Social Care Centre. The appointments may also be offered in the evening or weekends.

Non-urgent advice: When the surgery is closed

If you have a medical problem, which cannot wait until the surgery reopens but is not an emergency,
dial 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk.

If you have a medical emergency, you should call 999.

If your request is non urgent please review the homepage again and consider whether you can be assisted by the practice without an appointment with the doctor.
